evan_goulet
Saw it in DC, and it was worth the time. They had a large wall with some of the test prints, notes, and cropping guides that he used. It was interesting to see some of that creative process.
JDMvW
Wish I could see it.

I appreciated Frank's words on becoming a citizen: "Ich bin ein Amerikaner."
Uhooru
Saw it in San Francisco along with Richard Avedon, amazing!
tonmestrom
Saw both as well. Frank in London and Avedon in Amsterdam. Great.

furcafe
I don't think the "Looking In: Robert Frank's The Americans" exhibit traveled to Europe (yet @ least).

http://www.nga.gov/exhibitions/frankinfo.shtm
tonmestrom
no, not exactly the same exhibit, you're right. The one I saw in London was a kind of extensive retrospective but of course this series was an important part of it. How could it be otherwise. Thanks for pointing it out.
thomas_sullivan
Avedon and Frank at the same exhibit? Sheesh, after looking at pics by them two all at the same time, I think I might have tossed my camera equipment. I've seen Avedon's fashion exhibit at the ICP in NYC twice it was so good. Still gotta get my lazy butt over to The MET to see Frank's Looking In exhibit. I already ordered the 500 page book that goes along with the show.....can't wait to see that either. I love seeing great photographer's contact sheets. Always makes my "keeper" ration look just a little bit better ;-) Not saying I'm anywhere near as good as them....just nice to see they shoot hundreds of pics and only keep a few too.
