My first ball game with my boys. I have no idea what shutter to use on baseball game, suggestions are more than welcome. It is the little league game and my boys are bored half through the game. I on the other hand have a camera in my hand for a great learning experience, nothing is boring with a camera. All are taken with a MF lens with Tokina At-x SD 80-200mm f/2.8, not the best in wide open but quite good in f/4.0.

I like Robert's third shot, even if with a C*NON. And Ronnie's "Bargains" is a great shot. "Under the Bridge" is my favorite so far, though.

This week I was mostly working on a black and white roll in my new (to me) film ist. Hoping everything is working okay, beyond the shutter button which doesn't - thank goodness for the shutter release cord. But have a few shots to pick from.

00UAmF-163521584.jpg.068d79659c11d31bbbdc26b940db6534.jpg

A little too much Yankees/Red Sox, not enough shooting. One I took between games...

Thanks, Ben. That reflection is actually a self portrait. :-) I agree the composition is kind of ordinary, and ended up this way in part because the nose was overexposed.

Like others, I like Bob's Road to Cadillac as well. I think many of us have attempted shots sort of like this before, but this one is more attractive than many. Also like Markus' cow (& Dan's cow too), and Nick's 'Bee Heaven'.

William's detail shot of the Old New River Gorge Bridgewas very successful, IMO. I've tried taking detail shots of bridges before but this one really works for me.

Dave, I like the white shrooms, Ronny, the rusty loading dock. Leo, love the sky in your Zuiko/Ektar shot.

It has been a while since I've posted so just a quick update. I've spent the last few photo sessions working with a few women trying to get into modeling. I've found that its not as much fun for me as street photography. I've learned to appreciate the Sony A350 much more now that I have the 18-250 af lens. It sees more use because of this all purpose walking around lens. Wish I had the money to have purchased the Pentax 18-250 equivalent.
So far my favorites for the week are:
ME - Dahlia 1 - lovely colors
Robert C. - The fog really makes that third shot stand out
Ronny P. - the sharpness of the loading dock is spectacular so is the framing
John B. - the people add to the majesty of your bridge photograph
And without further ado my submissions:

Caught - Shot with Pentax K10D and Pentax M 55mm F2.0 at f16 or so, natural light

Destiny - Shot with Pentax K10D and Pentax M 55mm F2.0 at f16 or so with pop up flash
Just a testament to the abilities of the older Pentax M lenses. In fact, this is a lens that I never use, but made a point of trying to shoot with it during this session because of all the talk of the new Pentax 55mm to replace the venerable 50mm. Figured if I had one of the original models of this new 800.00 lens, I should at least try it out. I like it and it saved me between 750.00 and 725.00.

Nice collection folks....
My favorites are Leo Papandreou 's images...Usually electric wires are screwing things up and in this case, Ole leo took it to them for a change...You really made them work. Well done....

As I scroll down, I find myself stopping and looking at Ben Pajuczok 's gold fish every time...Why? Because it is a darn good wall image....

Another that makes me stop and look is Steve T. 's marina shot...That Sigma 10-20 is magic in your hands....Need to see more of you with this lens... :)

All n all, wonderful job all!

Some really great stuff here this week. I know of late I haven't been posting on the pow since Sunday's have now been busy away from the computer, and this late into the post I always feel bad just posting the pics without offering something back. So here goes; these are the ones really standing out for me:
Bob: I like the first shot, esp. the way the road leads off and the blue sky.
Markus: I like the Karl shot (funny) and the 2 musicians (gorgeous!).
Sigmar: I like the bokeh action you have, but personally I would have liked your first shot in a portrait orientation.
John: I like the bright orange of the fungus in with all the dead/dried leaves around it, though maybe make the photo a little brighter?
William: nice that you got the smooth water flow effect, but the whole image is a little too shaky for me.. even with SR it's tough shooting at 1/6.
Michael E: your 2 shots are just stunning! love the color and dof and it's so clear on the screen. really great job!
Steve: I like your 2nd shot of your wife, seems spontaneous even though she is smiling for the camera.
Jeremiah: i like the skintones on your "second angel"... is that straight from film or part of the PP? and are the colors that desaturated (the kodak gold) or did you do that?
Haig: if I don't look at the legs and look just at the face, the bird seems upside down to me! I like the catch light in the 2nd bird's eyes, and color!
Leo: nice use of power lines in your shot... more often than not photographers try to get rid of them! i think the car is distracting in your 2nd shot but really like the clouds in it.
Ben: i like the abstract "fish art"... nice idea for slow shutter... 2nd shot I'm not sure what that it is...
Robert: nice capture of the egret!
Ronny: as usual you have an eye for stuff that I just do not... neat. but if no cars are present then that's a good thing, right?
Dave: great shot of the mushroom! was that taken in the garden like that? i like the black all around it...
John: i like the perspective you got with the bridge shot.
Hin: nice capture in the 3rd shot.
Jordan: you're really coming along now... nice use of the dof to get that bokeh...good for you your wife is a willing model, I know some of us wish ours weren't so camera shy... the only thing I have is I can't eye anything of her left eye...
Steve: nice conversion on the black and white... it makes the photo stand out imo.
William: really digging the composition and dof, nice!
Nick: i like the different perspective on your 2nd shot
Dan- yes that is Beerbrain-esque...
Andrew - Eye can't think of a clever title either...
Jemal - nice to see you back, and love the 2nd shot! her skin and the lighting! nice!
anyways here are mine: taken with the k10d and the good ol' kittens I... this was a 4 or 6 shot multiple exposure, because the water lapping against the dock would shake the camera on the tripod. So a few smaller shutter speeds to minimize the shaking.
(I can't decide b/w that or the b&w!)
<a title="Untitled by Shaloot, on Flickr" href=" spacer.png title="Untitled by Shaloot, on Flickr">
The 3rd one taken with my beloved FA50mm. This is where my ma-in-law goes to hide and smoke at our grandma's place... her little escape;
phew!

@Somanna, I went back to double check My Angel, and it was actually expired(6yrs) Tri-X 400 and not Gold 200. It got snuck in when I developed film and I totally forgot about it since it was the last roll I had. The only PP I did was WB, Custom Exposure Adj, and a little bit of Noise Reduction. That's all. Thanks!
Everyone has some awesome shots this week, but I'll MAKE myself pick 3....
1)Markus- Karl is awesome!
2)Haig- One legged-Egret has a story to tell
3)GeorgeC- Makes me want to try some Acros as well...I love the grain
