Last weekend there were hundreds of hummingbirds flitting around some birdfeeders up in the San Bernardino National Forest. All I had with me was a 60mm macro lens. So I got close and waited a while for the birds to decide it was ok to get in front of the camera. Had to crop this one significantly, as they still did not get very close.

00U8S3-162009684.jpg.db4408d10af10ba5a9832d21e4f0b426.jpg

A friend is so kind loaning me his computer for a while to check the thread, but the connection is wireless and low width... less than half of the pics are downloaded.
I want to thank you all your contributions and comments, this one looks to be another great thread. I hope to have another opportunity to enjoy and to comment all your postings. Thank you all.

Oh my...such wonderful additions since I last checked. Like I have said before, it's like a trip around the world on Wednesdays here. I'm short on time, so can't comment on all the new additions, but know you have all made a contribution that is appreciated.
Waldemar: Your daughter is absolutely lovely. I know you must be proud.
Jeff K: I was just thinking about the TIFT tournament this morning! Wish I had been there (we're in the same corner of the world...but I like where you are better :) Counting those reels...WOW. Think how much money is sitting in the back of that boat (not to mention the boat)!
Oskar: Please pick a few and enjoy them for me! Lovely and scrumptious!
Monika: Hot air balloons AND fireworks?! Unbelieveable. That would be a dream come true for me.
Janne: I love that shot and hope everyone enjoyed the wine...kuddos for the festival.
To everyone: THANK YOU for making Wednesdays so special! I really love looking at each and every photo.

This is my first post to the WedNEsDAy thread not sure it holds up to the high standards I see here but wanted to join in the fun. My wife and I were in Russia a few weeks ago. This was taken in a small town in the Golden Ring.

So much terrific work. I'm especially taken by the landscapes this week. Looking at Pe-Christian's, I smell the salt breeze. Neil's moonlit image from Jersey seems like it could be from another world. I love the subtle colors in Benjamin's scene, the nostalgia evoked by Michael Axel's, the inner glow from Jens's black-and-white, and Lil's powerful IR. Pedro's image from Portugal takes my breath away, and Hamish's is simply gorgeous, as his work always is.

And Chris Court - c'mon! That cannot possibly be a real place! Is that where you find the meter long dragonflies you've shown us in earlier threads? Are there unicorns gamboling just behind the trees?

@Lil : Thanks for the comment. Yeah it's too close. Actually because of the bushes feet were cut in the actual picture, so to make it look better (and I hope it looks better) I cropped the picture.

attached is the actual picture.

00U8cY-162087584.jpg.d1a637d3ca4516887c510fe817153cd2.jpg

I sure enjoy the inspiration and motivation to take pictures, and better pictures, provided by these WedNEsDAy postings. It's great to see what everyone is able to do, and very humbling. A special thanks to Lil for taking the time to comment on each and every picture. Your dedication is noted and appreciated.
