rod_sainty2
Geoff, I have had excellent service from Foto Riesel in Kent Street and Camera Service Centre in Castlereagh St, although none has involved Leica. Foto Riesel stock Leica and have the best pro gear in Sydney. Mainline Photographics in Crow's Nest has a good reputation, as well. james_cooke
Bob Asher at Aperture Camera Repair Specialists in Ryde have always fixed my Leica's, Minolta CLE's and even replaced curtains in my Nikon Rangefinders. Worth a quick call to them to see what they can do for you.
ty_mickan
Geoff you are better to ship your camera to either Adeal, or Vic Plant at Camera Exchange (ex Leitz).
richard_francisco
Adeal is the distributor for Leica in Australia if I'm not mistaken. I believe Foto Riesel is one of their distributors. However, most distributors normally employ their own technicians so Foto Riesel or the other Leica dealers might have better technicians.
I live in Papua New Guinea. I sometimes think that I'm the only person here that uses Leica as I've never seen anyone else use one here. Whenever i have problems, i send it to Schmidt Marketing in Singapore since the exchange rate is simply better. The last time, they fixed my camera for free.
A friend of mine recommends Mainline though. You should check out their website so you can get more information... mainlinephoto.com.au
By the way, can someone post the contact people and numbers for:
Camera Service Centre
Aperture Camera Repair specialists
any other camera service centres in Australia...
Thanks!
