frankie_frank1
Or the package I got miss the card. The only paper I got is a generic paper says that this camera comes with 1 year warranty. No serial number is printed on that paper.
BTW, mine is a D90.

frankie_frank1
Amazon.com
The paper says 1 year USA warranty. All previous Nikon cameras I purchased came with 1 generic warranty statement and 1 warranty card which stamped the serial number.

lex_jenkins
Why not call Nikon USA during the week, as well as the actual seller? All you'll get from a discussion forum about this type of issue is speculation.
james_symington1
My UK D700 didn't come with a warranty card - you register it online and that is that. Perhaps that is the requirement now in the US too?
bruce_margolis
There is a lot of grey market gear sold through Amazon so the only question really is, who is providing the 1-year warranty? I don't remember what warranty info I got with my D300 but if I saw a generic-looking warranty in the box, my first thought would be that the dealer provides the warranty, not Nikon.

Either way, it is 1-year coverage. However, there may be issues later where there may be a need to send it to Nikon after the warranty expires. Bottom line, contact NikonUSA and see if your serial number matches up with USA versions.
alan_olander1664878205
There are no warranty cards with camera bodies. All you need is the dated proof of purchase (receipt).
ShunCheung
As Alan points out, in the digital era, all Nikon USA digital SLRs no longer come with the traditional warranty card with serial numbers printed on. Only film SLRs, lenses and accessories come with the traditional warranty card.
See also: http://www.photo.net/nikon-camera-forum/00LX3X
lempkin
I noticed this, as well, when I bought my D90 body from Adorama just before Christmas, and found it unusual. However, the paper does indicate that it is the warranty.
carl_beckner
I got mine yesterday with the same thing. I also got my 70-300mm VR lens last week with the same thing. The paper directs you to the Nikon site to register on line. More cost cutting?

dan_brown4
In my recent experience, to obtain Nikon USA service, you return the product with a copy of the original sales receipt from a Nikon USA dealer, and a copy of the warranty slip (that has the matching serial number on it) to Nikon for service. Must have all these, or no warranty.
kdedow
Listen to Henry. Nikon Dslr's do not come with pre-printed warranty cards. To require service you just need a valid proof of purcase from an authourized dealer. Nikon USA has the capability of verifing via serial # if it is grey market or valid USA product. Register it with Nikon and you will get your answer.
