Mailed it out to Rose at the beginning of last week, haven't heard yet whether it arrived--though USPS tracking says it arrived last Thursday.

Agree with Justin, I love the first one!

For the record, previous K1000 Across America threads.

Oh I don't know guys! I'm sitting here thinking about what I'm going to make for dinner and that third one looks mighty appealing right about now. Damn I wish I was in that line-up!

I'm impressed you're developing your own film, Javier. Very well done.

I've been thinking for a while that it's time I learned that as well. Just had some Ilford Delta developed and scanned at a local pro shop and for the first time I'm not impressed. The developing was fine but the scanning sucked. Had to scan the negs all over again when I got home. Might just as well of done it all myself!

Sorry Jeff, I think we hi-jacked your thread.

I like them all, but like the others, I consider the first as a great capture!

Javier, did you convert to B&W after the fact, or is that B&W film?

After enjoying the aspects digital affords, and find that exiting, I eventually go and shoot some film, and that gets exiting all over again! I love my film models! I just sent a set prints from film off to some friends, which I took during a time we spent together.

@Jeff, sorry for the hijack, this was not my intention. That Mexican place will put more than 5 lbs on you, that is for sure. :)

@Justin, thanks for the comments. In truth all 26 exposers I got from this roll of 24 even the ones that are so blown out you can't make out the image or the ones that are so underexposed it looks pitch black are perfect and awesome to ''me'' because it was my first time developing my own film 8-) Ansel Adams would be proud... :)
Now back to reality. I have that first image in my top 5 of all my images I have ever taken. I fell in love with it as I saw it out the corner of my eye while driving away from the parking lot. I made a u turn, got out of my truck and walked over to it and got off two shots before the lady started yelling and cussing at me. I will post the first image as soon as I scan it in.

@Thanks Andrew and I look forward to seeing what you shot!

@Thanks Dave!

@Scot, It was my first time and I am glad there was actually images. I was all to paranoid about loosing the best pictures I have ever taken in my life 8-) what prompted me to try it was this fellow on Pentax Forum posted a flicker link to a guy who did a step by step on how to do it and it was so simple that a monkey (me) could do it, I had to try. I don't have the link on my work computer, but when I get home, I will post it up.

@Michael, Black and white film. Delta 400. I too go back and forth and enjoy both digital and film equally as much, but for street shooting, you simply can't beat film. I shot 4 rolls this past weekend that I have yet to develop.

@Rose, I look forward to seeing what you come up with :)

I didn't realize you processed them yourself.

That is pretty cool.

You should get your hands on some Chrome Six developer (if it's still made). It's for E-6 (slide film) but it's really easy to do (only step 1 is light sensitive). When you slides are done the feeling is pretty awesome.

I haven't processed my own in a long time, I really only would do it when I was pushing the film. I believe 100ISO film pushes with better results than base ISO 400 film gives at proper exposure. So I would often push my Provia 100F to 400 or even 800 (rarely). Doing this at a lab cost about double per roll. So it was a significant savings..

I'm impressed though, glad to see you are branching out. Just think, about a year ago you didn't even know how to load the K1000, pretty cool!

I'm nocturnal (ro really, i run, mountain bike, ski, paddle, hike, road ride, and occasionally if I find a hearty partner will rock/ice climb all well after dark. I was well known in college for going riding at midnight)... Plus, I sort of make my own hours for work, and do quite a bit from home. This can become an issue when I am hiking and climbing a lot, but I solve it by traveling at night, arriving at the trail head and crashing on a bed of memory foam in the hatch, or if the trail head is secluded putting out my 1 man tent and getting a good nights sleep! I get up, well rested at 8am, and am off while everyone else is just arriving after a long drive and with weary eyes. Last week though I was so comfy in my bag while it was -5F outside, I decided to sleep in till 10am at the trail head. By the time I got up it was almost 14F...what a lazy ass!

Hey mis, I see your back up to 2 film canisters. Perhaps by the time you get the K1000 you will be up to 3 ;-) not counting the one in the camera...P.S. Don't forget to clean the sensor...There will likell be cat fur inside of it. :)

Don't worry Javier, I will disassemble the camera and give it a good CLA.

Did I ever get down to just 1 film canister? I thought 2 was my lowest. Not too worried, it probably means I'm foruming less and photographing more. At least I hope it does!
