frank_bunnik
Hi, I just bought a Horseman VH-R with a couple of lenses and a Horseman 6x9 back. This camera has a baby graflock back. Am I correct to assume that any rollfilm back made for a 2x3 camera should fit? I know the Linhof backs will not fit. I see 2x3 backs from Wista and Toyo for nice prices so I am interested in those backs. Do Mamiya RB67 backs fit?
Thanks for your help, Frank
paul.droluk
Frank, only Horseman or the old Graphic film backs will fit properly.

The Wista backs don't seat properly, as they are not designed to the 6x9 International Standard. I think the Toyo 6x9 back is an insertable back for 4x5 cameras, and doesn't incorporate the lands that make up the light seal. The Mamiya backs aren't wide enough to cover the width of the Horseman VH rear opening.

I have a VH, and absolutely love the camera. Do yourself a favor, and stick with the Horseman backs... they work perfectly. And if you get a chance, pick up the Horseman 60 degree Angle Finder, which makes viewing the GG a real pleasure.

joseph_dickerson
Frank,

I had a Horseman VHR some time ago and was able to use Mamiya RB 67 backs on it. You do have to pull the darkslide out slightly to fit them (there is an open triangle that shows you how far you can safely pull it) but other than that it worked fine.

Joe Dickerson
