Nikon D40 Pop-up flash won't fire...

<p>Hi everyone...<br>

So a friend of mine has a Nikon D40. The pop-up flash won't fire anymore... The camera isn't very old.<br>

The flash pops-up and makes a clicking noise but won't fire the strobe. Has anyone else ran into this problem??<br>

<p>Here's a link I found in which someone determined that the switch that tells the camera to fire the flash wasn't communicating properly. </p>

<p>Although I have a D40 I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking at in the photo in this link.</p>
