Need advice of primes to replace 17-35/2.8

<p>If this is paid work, get a 2.8 DX zoom - since you say you want smaller and lighter I'd look at one of the Tamron 17-50/2.8 models, which are substantially lighter than the Nikon. For more casual use, the 35/1.8 DX is cheap, light, sharp, fast.</p>
