jeffrey moore
Thanks Ellis. I will definitely explore those two links; you're always a trusted source for reliable info. The Evening book is one that I was considering, along with the Scott Kelby book.
squareframe
another compliment to Martin Evening for his excellent Lightroom 2.0 book. I just bought this book along with his Adobe CS4 Photoshop book .. and the collaboration with Jeff Schewe to be released in March 2009. the rest is up to you ... start hacking away and exploring. when you run into an obstacle, look it up. most likely Martin has been there before you and can supply the answer.

daniel taylor

sheldonnalos
If you are looking into books for Lightroom, I'd also recommend considering the Luminous Landscape video tutorial offered at www.luminous-landscape.com. It's 8 hours of footage showing a step by step, hands on use of almost all the features of the program. The cost of the video (downloadable high def quicktime format) is $40 and well worth it.

I was a new convert to Lightroom 2 coming from Capture One, and after going through the tutorial I can heartily recommend it. Lightroom feels like second nature to me now.
kuryan_thomas
I fourth the Evening book and second the Luminous Landscape tutorial video. Only problem with the video: you need a broadband connection to download it, and even then, their servers are slow by video download standards. Expect to spend an entire day downloading all the segments.
dan_meyers1
Evening's book(s) are in a league of their own...professional, clear, consice, packed with info and totally devoid of annoyingly folksy, self-conscious humor.
