robin_bonathan
Hi I have a nikon d300 and I was wondering how you can remove or edit the metadata information from the final shot that is stored with the file on your computer ? Sometimes you might not want to show which camera or exposure details etc you have used. Can this be edited or deleted ? thanks Robin...
Richard Williams
ExifTool is one solution, e.g.: exiftool -all= myfile.jpg See: http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/

dan_brown4
I use the Photoshop "Save for Web" command under the File drop-down. It makes the file a bit smaller too.

paul_b.1
If you want to delete the metadata inf. , you can use ACDSE ...This smal program can convert or resize several types of image formats..., durring this operation the exiff data will be lost. "Can this be edited ?" YES , using "Opanda Power Exif" (freeware).
dan_brown4
Well Dave, that just goes to show that you and I are ever-vigilant here on the Nikon Forum :-D
rarmstrong
So, I've been wondering how you view the EXIF data on images posted by others? Thought I'd just throw that out as a part of this discussion.
hamish_gray
If you have installed Opanda Power Exif, which is free, you can right-click on the image and choose "view exif" from the menu (asuming you use a PC. I'm not sure about Mac). Provided the image has EXIF recorded, you will get all the details.
bruce_hemingway
If you use Firefox, there is an add-on extension for viewing metadata: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3905 Right-click on a photo, and the EXIF data is shown.
