fju
I think the F100 has this. Which other cameras show focus confirmation with manual lenses?
photo5
The F5 has multi-colored indicators in the viewfinder, the F100 has monochrome indicators. I'd use the F5 if I needed top performance from MF lenses on an AF film body.
hudspeth
My d2hs and my D3 show focus confirmation in the lower left of the viewfinder by showing two arrows and when in focus you get a dot instead.
john schroeder
All current Nikon DSLR's give AF confirmation. On the consumer models it is located in the lower left corner of the viewfinder.
jose_angel
On current digital models the difference is in the arrows; top models show directional arrows to made manual focus easier. The rest of models don`t, only the dot when focus is correct.
SCL
Both my F100 and D100 (I know...outdated technology) have manual focus confirmation, via a blinking dot.
Ed_Ingold
Any AF camera newer than the F4 (and possibly the F4) has a focus confirmation "dot" in the viewfinder. This works with any lens, AF or manual, that can be mounted on the camera. You can also select which focus bracket to use, regardless of the lens. ShunCheung
There are certainly several Nikon AF cameras that I have never used, but as far as I know, all of them have the focus confirmation dot, including some of the earliest ones such as the F4 and N8008/F801 from 1988. Michael R Freeman
EVERY Nikon autofocus camera (be it film or digital) made since the original F301/N2000 of 1985 will give focus confirmation when used with manual focus lenses. The electronic rangefinder (aka focus confirmation dot) is an independent optical subsystem and requires no "input", other than a focused image, from the lens mounted on the camera. As others have noted above, some cameras give more information (directional arrows, beeps, etc.), but all will give a focus confirmation indication of some form in the viewfinder. elmroc
I've used D1, D1x, D200, D300, and D700, and they've all had this.
michael_hahn
Interestingly, the Contax RX does not auto focus your lenses ... but provides an "In Focus" indicator. Very handy. michael.
