Price to charge for prints

I know that I'm a darn fool for not thinking this out, but I shot a bunch of pictures of a group of guys sailing

Lazers on Sunday. Lousy light but I got a bunch of decent shots. I downsized then and burned a CD of 130 images

and stopped by their after race party, gave them the CD, and offered them prints if they were interested.

 

So I got an email and there is indeed some interest. So my question is how much do I charge for a print? I can

have a local lab do the printing for a reasonable price.

 

I am a serious hobbyist. Not a professional. I've done a few senior pictures and been paid to shoot a couple

graduations. I'm sort of looking to just make a little off this hobby to keep my wife from divorcing me.

 

What do you charge for an 8X10 from a sporting event?

Im not a pro at all either but i did a Halloween costume shoot and i charged $10 for 8x10 and $5 for 5x7 i did the shoot for a friend so i also got some free advertising i didnt get rich but more than paid for my time and effort

Amber sounds about right for a non contracted shoot....but, a hint......offer 2 8x10 for 25 dollars.....Greatly enhances your profit and most people will go for it.....always proud to have one to give away.....cheers, Bob
