Camera in the film - The Mechanic

Just viewed for the nth time Michael Winner's film 'The Mechanic' with Charles Bronson. The opening sequence has

him using a camera with motor drive attached to a telescope. I think it is a Nikon F2 body, but I am not certain -

Anyone got any other thoughts?

The opening sequence is on youtube. In that short clip,

he uses a camera, binoculars, and a rifle scope!

Bronson turns the camera counter-clockwise to mount it to the lens, so that's right for a Nikon. And the F2 came

out in 1971, which would be correct for a 1972 movie.

But there's a tight shot from behind where you get a close look at the camera, and it doesn't look like an f2.

The strip of metal around the top looks too thin, and the winder/asa dial/shutter release layout looks different.

I think, too, that the camera in the movie has the rings for the camera strap at the sides instead of on the

front corners.

So, I don't think it's an F2. Too bad, I would have loved that.
