Kent Shafer
Here's a weird thing: For about six or eight images from a recent outing (Nikon NEF format), when I open them with ACR and then CS3 in the usual way and then add an adjustment layer (such as Curves), the usual thumbnail for that type of adjustment layer doesn't show in the layers palette. Instead, for all types of adjustment layers, it shows a circle dvided in two - the same as the icon for creating a new adjustment layer at the bottom of the layers palette. Normally, of course, the thumbnail is a line graph for Curves, a histogram for Levels, and so on. No big deal, I guess, since the layers still seem to work as expected, but it's a puzzle. This only happens with six or eight specific images exposed consecutively within a few minutes of each other. Images exposed before and after those - just a few minutes earlier or later - don't exhibit this behavior. Any ideas?<div></div>
peter_mounier
I noticed the same thing back in Feb., and asked the same question... http://www.photo.net/digital-darkroom-forum/00OPYY Peter
Kent Shafer
Thank you Peter. I'm sorry I missed your earlier post and your ingenious solution. I will confirm that it applies in my case too when I get home from work.
Kent Shafer
Confirmed. A full-frame horizontal image (from a Nikon D300 anyway) isn't tall enough to accommodate the usual adjustment layer thumbnails. Thanks again Peter.
