labce__
I`ve recently used ASA 12 film in my Minox B camera and since there`s no setting for ASA 12,I estimated the distance one stop past ASA 25 and set the camera there. At that time I noticed the direction of rotation of the ASA setting wheel. If you are using ASA 100 film, you would set the ASA at 100 and the shutter speed at 1/100 to synchronize the camera;if you then move the ASA wheel one stop over to ASA 200,the shutter speed on the camera moves to 1/50.Shouldn`t the shutter speed move to 1/200,a faster speed?Isn`t this backwards? james_a.__
Lance, these cameras have been around for over 40 years, if it were backwards, seems like somebody would have noticed before now. If you are shooting ASA 200 film, you set the dial to 200, then open the camera and set the shutter speed to 100, then close the camera. If you want to use ASA 12, then set the dial to ASA 25, then open the camera and set the shutter speed dial to 50. Close the camera and you should be good to go.
