josheudowe
Almost all of photo.net's forums are reactive to questions. I think many users would enjoy being able to post proactive "Equipment Reviews", "Travel Reviews", "Tips and Suggestions", etc. I think it would be very well received and used daily! Spearhead
Photo.net already has sections for that. Look at the "Equipment" and "Learning" pull-downs at the top of the page. Music and Portraits Blog: Life in Portugal
josheudowe
Hi Jeff, Yes, but these areas can't be used as a forum for discussion, questions, comments, personal reviews and/or conversations about a specific piece of equipment, can it? joshroot
Plenty of people make "proactive" posts in the forums every day. In addition, my main concerns are as follows: "Equipment Reviews" - Would conflict too much with existing forums and confuse everyone on where stuff should go. There are plenty of places for people to write about gear that they own (forums, equipment section, writing an actual review article). "Travel Reviews" - While we do have a travel forum to deal with questions and issues about traveling for/because of photography, we are not a travel site. There are many other websites that have great travel related reviews and are more geared towards traveling in general. "Tips and Suggestions" - Far too vague and would also conflict too much with existing forums. For virtually every every "tip" that anyone would want to write, there is already a forum that it would fit in.
josheudowe
I was always hesitant to post proactive reviews about something I've purchased or used, I suppose you're right. Thanks for the response
