steve_lantz
While browsing through L.L.Bean's Christmas addition catalog I received the other day I noticed on page 231 (for those who have it) the model holding one of the Canon QL range finders. IMO it's a nice change from models holding DSLRs with massive zooms or medium format cameras.
the celt 2
Yeah I saw that too. A lot of "trendy" catalogs routinely use classic olr cameras as props. I wouldn't be surprised that the person shooting the catalog photos would have no idea how to even load the film. There is also alot of use of some really cool classic autos too. steve_bellayr
Earlier this year Sundance catalog featured old Bell & Howell 8mm movie cameras in their adds. They also listed some of them for sale as decorator items.
chuck_foreman1
Mmmh I often wondered if these props and you do see them frequently aren't part of the studios property. They belong to the photographer himself and are seen as quasi retro.. and then simply used. "Hey what's with that thing there on your desk.. let's use that" ...Maybe I'm being too naive...I guess everything is calculated!!
gene m
Man, have I got a lot of props.
john carter
Interesting, I think Gene M could provide many much more intersting props than a Canon QL.
