danielhundley
After Selling a photo through a stock photo agency, does the photographer still retain the ownership of the photograph? And can he/she continue to sell the same photo there and elsewhere? Thanks for the help.
ahockley
Depends on the the contract/agreement that one has with the agency. I'm not aware of any that actually transfer ownership, usually it's just a licensing agreement. Some have exclusive agreements, which mean that the photographer can't sell the image elsewhere, while many are non-exclusive. In short: it depends. Matt Laur
This depends entirely on the fine print defining your relationship with the stock agency and wiht the customers who ulimately license the image. You really should signa deal in which you surrender your copyrights. So in that sense, you always own your images. But you might use the stock agency to license an image to a customer that (for a nice price) gets exclusive use of that image. That would prevent you from licensing its use to someone else. Really, it depends on the deal you strike, and conditions under which you offer the images.
