mdoyle
I was testing a lens in front of my house. on the left side of the frame is an old foster home where nuns still reside, in the right corner is a church. One day I showed my sister-in-law the photo and she noticed a bird flying by that I just happen to capture. Upon further viewing we noticed an image in the wing. To us it looks like the virgin mother. I will post it to see if anyone else sees it

petemillis
I see it - I'm sure it is indeed the virgin mother.
Matt Laur
I can never remember... who is the patron saint of satire, anyway? It's hard to keep track.
mdoyle
Not satire Matt. This is a real shot
mcpoljak2003
I once saw the face of James Bond in the condensation on a ice-cold vodka martini. I took it as a sign: that I too did indeed have a license to kill.
Norma Desmond
I can see that there might be a face. Very often cloud formations, cream in coffee, tree barks have textures such that they look like faces. My guess is that's more about our human tendency to organize things into familiar categories than anything else. A determination of whose face it is would be purely projection. We didn't need dialogue. We had faces!
gordonjb
I did not know until now, that the Virgin Mother had a mustache.
manut
Arrangemnt of the feathers looking like a figure, rare coincidence. Photography, freezing moment, hence the view.

Lou_Meluso
I see a guy with a beard! Better watch it Mark or you may start seeing pilgrims heading for your home. Makes traffic a mess :o)
mdoyle
Could be Jesus too but we definitly see an shape.
mdoyle
Weird thing is there is a church on the corner about a block away and a convent in front. I never saw the bird flying by. What are the odds?
digitmstr
The mustache is definitely there...and pretty much excludes the V.M. resemblance. Though, in those days, women may have been a bit more hairy... My question for all those how have a vision is: how do we know how anyone looked back then? There are no pictures, except those that were painted...
mdoyle
Could be Jesus in a semi profile.
lake_photography
I agree you see an image but I have to ask, How does one really know if it is an image of the Virgin Mother or her off spring when no one know what they really looked like. Just wondering.
Norma Desmond
"What are the odds?" The odds are pretty much the same as anyone else, even an atheist, who takes a photo and catches a bird flying by. "Could be Jesus in a semi profile." Mark, You want or need this to be a religious experience. Why? It is as much the face of Robert DeNiro as it is Jesus and as much the face of Meryl Streep with a moustache as it is Mary. You are seeing exactly what you want to see, nothing else. We didn't need dialogue. We had faces!
petemillis
Fred, you've done it for me now - I really think it MUST be Meryl Streep with a 'tache.
mdoyle
Well being that there are some additional holy sites in the background leads me to look a little deeper into it
rivi
Mark, I don't know where this shot was taken, but there are at least three continents (Europe, North-, and Southamerica) where you can't go out of your house for ten minutes without seeing half a dozen of those. Norma Desmond
Mark-- If you're being satiric or trolling, this is amusing. If you're serious, it's sad and pathetic. We didn't need dialogue. We had faces!
James G. Dainis
I don't know. I've never seen any photos of the Virgin Mother taken around 30 AD and I don't think she sat for any portraits. James G. Dainis

the celt 2
We are all looking for a sign. We are all looking for devine help. What we should be looking at is the bloody mess we're all making, and try to actually do something about it. Our maker(and I'm an equal oppurtunity believer) gave us the gift of a free thinking mind, and the intelligence to solve problems. That's where we need to put all of our efforts.
