neil_swanson
Are there any problems or reasons I wouldn't want to use my Dyna-lite power packs with the D70? I have the little Nikon shoe mount PC socket adapter I used to use on an 8008. I don't know what the firing voltage of the D70 is. I do have some cameras that won't work with my old GVI radio slave and I need to replace that radio slave unit. I've noticed some specs of radio sets mention "OK with digital firing voltages". So that is the reason for my question.
ellis_vener_photography
MAn, I used to have a GVI Radio Slave until about fifteen years ago And it wasn't new when I bought it about twenty three years ago! the GVI is the great grandfather of the Quantum Radio Slaves! Switch to a Pocketwizard for better reliability and range than anything else on the market. I've had zero troubles with Pocketwizards using any digital or film camera since I switched from Quantum Radio Slaves (which did give me trouble back 1998. john schroeder
According to Nikon tech the maximum trigger voltage for the D70 is 240 volts. I've been using a vintage flash bulb setup with a trigger voltage of 26 volts for several months without any problems at all. I would recommend a "Safe Sync" so you don't reverse polarity. neil_swanson
Yeah the GVI is old. I need to replace it. Right now I'm just going sync cord and don't want to toast the D70.
