david_l3
R.I.P. May 18, 1991 to July 16, 2008. He was the subject for my Leica cameras hundreds of times for trying out lenses and films, and for photographic fun. He will be missed.

constance_cook
BJ, my 17-year old B&W tuxedo went last Thursday. They can share tales about being photographed. I regret your loss. Conni
Alex_Es
David, I am sorry to hear about Ernie's passing. It is sad to lose a good cat. Ernie lived a good cat life. There is something in that.
jose_guerra
We lost our cat and I think it was during the time of the tainted Chinese Cat food. How can I prove it now? I stepped outside Sunday and I felt like I saw him again at the front door. It was a fleetting thought as I know he's gone but I was so use to seeing him resting in the shade when I got home everyday and in the morning when I would go out to get the paper and feed him. We called him Alex. Every once and a while he would bring us a dead mouse and leave it at the front door. Alex was semi Persian and completely black. orvillerobertson
Tony Mendoza's Ernie is still one of my favorite photo books ever and a great lesson in shooting documentary photography.
john_r._fulton_jr.
Ernie lives in your photographs. He will always live in your heart, too. Best of luck.
leicaglow
How sad it would have been if you hadn't taken so many pictures of Ernie. I'm really sorry for your loss.
blakley
Condolences on the loss of Ernie, Tuxedo, and Alex. They being cats, you can have the satisfaction of knowing that they lived all nine to the fullest.
wgpinc
Over 17 years Ernie had a pretty good run. Cats have a way of endearing themselves in your life. I have 3 of them and they are great company. Here is a picture of Ollie, the youngest.

david_l3
Thanks everyone for the condolences. My sympathies to Conni and Jose. Last summer I rescued a kitten from a parking lot, and Mercedes has turned out to be very sweet and a real joy. She likes to pose for a Leica camera.

christopher_a._junker1
A cat nemed Mercedes is perfect for Leica pictures. I'm sorry to read about Ernie, but you have memories, pics and kind thoughts of a great companion. Glad to read you still have a cat that owns you. After many years and the departure of our allergic daughter, we now have Max (for Berek) a Burmese. I just hope that we are able to share as many years as you had with Ernie.
