andy_wagner2
Can anyone recomend a program that will recover panasonic's raw files from an sd card. All the programs that I've tried recover only the thumbnail jpgs
alexander_illich
Well if the card is formatted, it sounds as if you may be out of luck. If the card is just corrupted, there is a SadDisk program.
sabrina fonseca
There is a program called PC Inspector Smart Recovery that found my RAW pictures from my card after I accidentally formatted it on the camera. I highly recommend it.
andy_wagner2
Sabrina was this from a panasonic camera or another brand?
sabrina fonseca
It was from a Canon 5d.
andy_wagner2
Ok that's what I was afraid of. They don't support Panasonic raw yet. I did E-mail them as they claim they need three samples of the file in order to decode the files. Anyways after trying a number of pay for use products and getting no response, this one shows some promise. I'll keep you posted. Best of all it's FREEWARE! :-)
Richard Williams
You could try this: http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec
bill_tuthill
I wonder if Alexander means SanDisk or really SadDisk? Anyway, SanDisk cards come with a recovery program that might work on other brand cards, I dunno.
phule
[[Well if the card is formatted, it sounds as if you may be out of luck.]] I just recovered images from a formatted CF card using PhotoRescue (which came with my Sandisk Extreme III cards)
phule
I'm sorry, the name of the software is RescuePro.
andy_wagner2
Richard Just got done with the program and it worked like a charm. Got all the files from the formated card back. It is a bit cumbersome to use, but like I said it worked like a charm. A big THANK YOU!
lily_seah2
Yes! I've tried the photorec and it works! So far, it managed to recover my Panasonic Lumix LX3 files. All JPGs and raw files. Just have to rename the .RAW to .RW2 and it's viewable again! Thanks to Richard Williams for the recommendations! The program is still not able to recover the movies I've recorded though. The .MOV files were not recovered. But I'm truely happy with what I've got now! :):):)
