hinman
I am trying out a picture gallery called SimpleViewer and yes, I have my own hosted domain, this is in testing phase, http://hintheman.com/gallery/nature/ please let me know if it works for you. Apology on my absence in picture of the week as I have no new pictures. I am working on various ideas and one of them is to construct a picture gallery. Missing you all.... duane_mills
Easy, effective, flash based gallery. Couldn't be any simpler. I like it. Great photos too.
marosari00
Awesome. It works very well on my Opera browser.
snik75
That's very nice to use, and of course great shots. The bug ones are incredible even on a second review.
abe_hollander
Hin, those look GREAT. First, just fantastic shots. It all starts there. But second, I make online galleries using PSE 6's built-in templates, and they dumb-down ALL my JPEGs to really poor quality. Here's an example: http://www.hollanderfamily.net/pix/050108%20Anniversary%20Trip%20to%20Barbados/ Even with the first picture, you can see all the jaggies. The original looks much better! Is SimpleViewer what you used to create the flash-based gallery? Tell me more please!
shots worth sharing
Yes really nice photos and presentation. Please do tell Abe more!
hinman
Abe and others, Thanks for the kind comments. The Simpleviewer can be seen in this link http://www.airtightinteractive.com/simpleviewer/ There are various ways to construct photos and I happen to use Picasa for everything and SimpleViewer has a template that one can install as a plugin to Picasa, instruction in For Picasa: http://www.airtightinteractive.com/simpleviewer/auto_desktop_instruct.html and they also have integration with photoshop and lightroom. In picasa, I simply make an album of my nature photos and 'Export' as html using the SimpleViewer template and later I ftp to my hosted server. I also tried out combining SimpleViewer with a FlickrViewer using PHP but that really takes more work as it is not fully documented. Check out the PhotoShop insturction page and see if you can integrate SimpleViewer templates into PhotoShop element, the document is for CS2 and I hope they work similar For photoshop: http://www.airtightinteractive.com/simpleviewer/auto_photoshop_instruct.html The photos in my nature gallery are mostly done with my Tamron 70-300 and some with Pentax K 100mm f/4.0 1. Tamron 70-300 Di LD Macro (most shots) http://techtheman.blogspot.com/2008/04/tamron-70-300-di-ld-macro-test-shots.html 2. Pentax SMC K 100mm f/4.0 (bee shots) http://techtheman.blogspot.com/2008/04/pentax-smc-100mm-f40-macro-12.html I will document more a bit in my blog page later on how to use SimpleViewer, FlickrViewer in Picasa. sleahy73
Wow! Works great, and there are some really good shots in there!
hagar
Great job Hin, and an excellent start for your gallery! I like how easy it is to scroll through the photos. Good luck with the rest of it.. and make sure to let us know !!!
abe_hollander
That's good news, Hin. I'm going to explore the integration in PSE. I get a lot of mileage out of creating the online galleries (when I shoot soccer games, all the parents love to get a link for the photos), and they're great looking in PSE, and then I post them online. My wife runs up the stairs, having already dialed 911 when she hears my sharp intakes of breath. The picture quality is awful!
markus maurer
I like 3 photos out of this series Hin, the ladybug 9512, the bee on 9399 and the light on the plant on 9378. The other photos are too soft or suffer from other errors IMHO but maybe I'm too picky for this forum?
todd_phillips3
nice shots Hin! I have used simpleviewer a bit in the past too.. Another way to use it, if you're new to site design and looking for easy solutions, is with this freeware app: http://www.photoonweb.com/en/
