josh_gilreath
OK, I shot this with a Hasselblad 500cm with 50mm c lens. Film was fuji Astia 100. My question is what do you think about the crop. and are the columns on each side to bright? Any input is appreciated! Thanks, Josh<div></div>
chris_burgess3
Looks like God is ready to deliver some hellish storms on your church. Maybe if america's churches weren't so segregated, the sky wouldn't look to ominous.
russ_britt3
Chris are you celibrating the death of the man that invented LSD yesterday? Is your room padded? Sorry to have so many questions, but your responce is very odd to say the least.
gdw
Josh, the crop is fine. It leaves the end user considerable latitude in filling a space. As Doug says, yes, too bright but I also would not have noticed it. You need to apply some masking and correction. I like the storm clouds, great atmosphere. The church can be seen as the warm and safe refuge from the storm. All depends upon viewpoint.
alan_higgins
I like the photo and I like the crop too. The sky is dramatic. To be honest I wouldn't have known it was a church until you said. On closer inspection, the only thing that gives it away is the arched windows I suppose
ralph_jensen
I vote for moving the crop marks a *smidge* to the right so that there's a little less blank space at the left end and more on the right. (Because the subject of this "portrait" is "looking right," as with any portrait there should be a little more "looking room" in the direction of the look. In this case, that would mean a tiny bit more space at the right end of the church than at the left end.) But that's nitpicking - hey, you asked - and it's an excellent photo!
