alexthornephotography
Hi, I've got a half-gallon carton of Kodak fixer that has been sitting around for about one month. Is this stuff still good, or should I mix some new fixer. Thanks
evan_goulet
Do a leader test. Put the end of a film leader into the fixer. See how long it takes to clear. Multiply by two and that is roughly your fixing time. Of course, if takes much longer than your usual fixing time, I would chuck it and start fresh. danny_wong2
Your half carton, if it is undiluted should last more than one month. If unsure, use the film leader test.
craig_shearman1
If it's in just about any kind of bottle with a cap on it it should be good for about six months. No need to test.
