Picture of the Week, 4/7/08

Well, I've been waiting for someone to start this thread (Why? I don't know),

and I decided to start it myself.

Our fellow Pentaxians, MC2 (Matt and Maria McManamey) were in Oklahoma last

weekend shooting portraits at the Medieval Fair. I stopped by to introduce

myself and they let me shoot a couple of pitures of them!

It was very nice to meet you both and I hope you found your travels to Oklahoma

profitable!

And lastly, I leave you with a picture of our Oklahoma Redbuds...they are

painting the sides of the roads pink right now!

Lovely pictures for MC2. I love Maria's smile and Matthew looks so handsome and serious as compared to the twisted portrait I saw sometime ago with single eye. I love MC2 and hopefully it shows in my comment. Lisa, I hope you can charge them for a print to make up funds for your K20D or whatever lens that you are looking :-) Lovely shots for sure.

Oh, Alisa, your Mc2 portraits and very, very, VERY nice! The tones in the first one especially fine, and what a great opportunity to meet the illustrious McManameys! Maria looks the type to put all the wedding participants at ease during a photo op.

Javier, your b&w's capture the atmosphere, especially the last one in the mission courtyard, and it would be nice to see the young hummers in color too.

I offer one of me doing my favorite thing....<div>00P59P-42771684.jpg.272c1276005a2e4093e71ae238c9d250.jpg</div>

Woohoo! Matt in a skirt!!!!! Thanks for delivering on your promise, Alisa. And the photos are great, by the way.

Maria: You have a fabulously engaging smile, and I agree with Anne's comments.

Everyone: Glad you're enjoying Spring; I'm around Baltimore at the moment and the skies are grey, so no Spring shots for me. I don't have time to single anyone out, except...

Hin! I already told you, but I'll say it again in this forum: Your photography is improving sooooo much. Your last photo might be my favourite of yours, I might even like it more than the one of your wife and son walking into the sunset. OK, maybe it's my second favourite, but I still love it :-)

aaawwww, you guys are so sweet. All y'all. (that's Okie for youse guys.)

The look on Alisa's face when matt said she could hook up to our flashes! Priceless! very

cute. So enthusiastic.

Hin: wow. Mis is right. You are getting better every day, and I thought you were pretty

durn good to start with.

Javi: you're getting quite good w/ the b&w film. I really really like the roses & the

courtyard.

Mis: took me several looks to realize that one above is a puddle. It's really great.

Matt will put up some candids from Medieval Faire, man I knew faire brought out the

strange, but HOO BOY! I had to go back and pull the test shot I got of him, and dang it, I

didn't get those cute calves, either! ;-) The girl was my fav shot of the weekend, I just

can't pick which one of the 3 diff poses I took.<div>00P5Ez-42774684.jpg.d1bd9b5daf83fa27bfd01eddabc01aea.jpg</div>

matt didn't get any sleep last night, or tonight, and I'm the one editing the pics, so he asked

me to post these for him. I'll talk him into posting some of the faire freaks a little later. This

was our last sitting of the weekend - a ventriloquist who wanted a publicity shot.<div>00P5J0-42776184.jpg.5990aa398829773aa4635fa30d6fff66.jpg</div>

Well I'm sorry for having so little time to spend here,

but you should know that I very much enjoy the variety of images here.

Here's my contribution, shot last sunday.

A little experiment with overexposure + work on the colours.

(I wonder if anyone can see what it is?)

Great pictures all.. Here's one or two of mine. Having a little fun.<br>

O Shiva, You're going to think I'm copying you but, last week I picked up some art glass vase that looks very similar to what you photographed. I got it with the sole intention of shooting it. Nice ones!<br>

Love your new desktop, Tom!

O Shiva, the glass vase is very cool, and the last photo is by far the best; great composition and colour (although I would maybe increase the contrast a little, but I'm a contrast junkie).

Matt still looks bad-ass in that shot with the Claymore sword, despite the long (???) hair. Your kilt is the one that says BMF, right Matt? ;-)

Maria, I agree with you, that girl with the sword has innate grace and style. You should find her again.

hmmmm - i wonder if my fav pic of matt is scanned.... it's him in kilt w/ hair down to the

middle of his back, and our oldest (then 6 mo old) staring up adoringly at her daddy.... His

head was shaved bald that night so the hard hats would fit & the hair went for lock of love.
