Flashes on Sony Digitals- Common Problem?

Hi all-

I've returned a Cybershot H3 with a faulty flash (Just stopped popping

up automatically, but would still flash if you popped it up with your finger),

which was under the 1yr guarantee...now the second has done the same thing but

suddenly came right.

I see a few other flash complaints throughout this forum, and was just

wondering if it's a commonly known problem with Sony cameras?

If it were a common problem then it seems to me there certainly would be loads more posts, right? Sony seems to be selling a good number of these cameras.

Oh for sure, and I love my wee Cybershot H3! I was just curious as I had my problem with the first H3 under warranty- which was replaced with no hassles- Then the second seemed to be forming the same problem. After noticing a few flash related help topics here I thought I'd ask the question, thats all! :-)

Okay, just got an email back from Sony as I thought I'd check...and yes, there was a batch of H3s that do have a flash fault, and I've unluckily had two in a row with it.

However, it is easy to fix, and have the part in stock to handle it (they didn't originally, which is why I got a new camera and not repaired), and just told me to take it into their local service agent.

So easy fixed! So if your H3 flash just stops firing for no reason- Don't panic! ;-)
