laurent1
Hello,I proceeded a few HIE lately and I got some black spots on my prints. Looking atthe negatives, it seems that there are a some "holes", meaning that some partsof the neg don't have any emulsion. Have you experienced this kind of problem ? bob_sunley
Air bubbles left on the film during developing?
ronald_moravec1
pin holes from stop bath. Never use stop bath or water. Dev and fix is all that is required, and alkaline fix is best. There may be some small loss of fix like, but you should not save it except for test prints anyway. A hard learned lesson the took me decades to learn. laurent1
Thanks for your answer. I don't think that this might come from air bubbles as I return my tank and I always hit it on a hard surface after. I will try not to use a stop bath. Ronald, you don't even use water between the dev and the fix ? I use hypam as fix, do you know if it's alkaline ? Is it special with the hie ? I haven't experience this problem with other films. Thanks Laurent
bobmichaels
I used to have this problem with HIE and never have used stop, only water. I concluded it was air bells or bubbles. I started doing one or two very strong agitation shakes at the beginning of the developing process and it solved it.
