roland_schmid
Just for the Alpa aficionados among you: today I took two photographs of the former Alpa factory buildings in Ballaigues, Switzerland. Today in the buildings are living families and even a christian church is one of the hirers. In 1989 Alpa ceased camera production, continued with the production and finally went bankrupt in 1996.Capaul & Weber vpurchased the name Alpa and is producing the new medium format camera line at Seitz Phototechnik AG in Lustdorf.

roland_schmid
Correction: in 1989, returning to their original core business, they continued the production of watch parts, until 1996.

aplumpton
I second Ellis. The Europeans have style, even in manufacturing buidings. I wish I could justify the price of the ALPA MF camera and S. or R. lens to go with it.....
vivek iyer
Small and elegant just like their 35mm cameras.
jack_lo_..._t_o
Would really like to see what these buildings looked like when they were factories.
aplumpton
Probably better than any buldings in hogtown, Jack, even considering the distillery upgrades.

Troll
ALPA got almost as much mileage out of the original Bosley designed SLR as Leica did out of their Barnack and M cameras, just by upgrading a superb design.
peteradownunder
My favourite camera - not an SLR, not a rangefinder with no auto anything - I can shoot film OR digital - wide angle perfection is a 24mm Schneider or 35mm if you like more get LOL
Nice pics btw thanks for posting.
