stephenwood
Wow, all these scanner questions under mine reminded me to ask this question: Ihave a Microtek i900 and always have used Silverfast Ai as the operatingsoftware. Recently I decided to upgrade Silverfast. Well, ever since then, itdoes not find my scanner. Un-installed and re-installed Silverfast but to noavail. Windows' built in scanner software sees it and will do a quick and dirtyscan but of course with no real control, so it's not the connection. Any help? Thanks! robert_fisher4
This is going to sound like a dumb question but have you tried cycling the scanner on and off or uninstalling and reinstalling the scanner itself?
stephenwood
I haven't uninstalled the actual scanner yet. I was thinking it's just a software problem because Windows detects it. The problem with troubleshooting with Lasersoft is I have no internet connection in the studio and have to be plugged in to the scanner to open Silverfast. joemig
Is it a SCSI connected scanner? I had one until recently, and you always had to make sure it was turned on before the computer was. If the computer was on first, the scanner would not be recognized.
guido_soentpiet
Always a good idea is to ask the Silverfast Staff, or take a look at the Silverfast Forum. For example http://www.silverfast.com/forum/i900--und-quotscanner-not-found-und-quot-t3596.html
William Kahn
Which Silverfast software did you upgrade to? If the older software is still installed, it could cause conflicts. Look in Control Panel>Add/Remove Software to see if the older one is still there, and delete it if it is.
thirteenthumbs
If you are connected via USB or Firewire then unplug the interface cable and reboot the computer then reconnect the interface cable. Next upgrade leave the scanner off while doing the upgrade.
