bernie_.
Hello This morning I heard something (a little loose piece) inside the M6's rangefinder. When I try to focus with any of my lenses the double image doesn't move from infinity. Is it serious? It's a Weltzar M6 and it's time for a CLA. I'm going to send it to Solms but I'm worry about the service and the possibility of remove the original "Leitz" logo. Thanks in advance for your comments and responses. Bill Blackwell Images
"This morning I heard something (a little loose piece) inside the M6's rangefinder. When I try to focus with any of my lenses the double image doesn't move from infinity. Is it serious?" You have very serious condition called "hocus-focus." Actually, it sounds like your focusing cam (the silver dial just inside the lens mount) has come off. Send it in for a CLA. I wouldn't worry about the red dot. “When you come to a fork in the road, take it ...” – Yogi Berra
kbg32
The Leitz red dot covers the rangefinder adjustment screw.
randy_lewis1
I'd call Sherry Krauter @ Golden Touch. She's great to talk to and advise is free. She prefers to talk as opposed to email. Does excellent work and a quicker turnaround time than most. (845)496-8834. Evenings are the best time to call. She did an M5 and CLE for me recently and got them back in 3 weeks. Best shape they've been in since new.
Rob F.
Are you in the USA? If so I will second the recommendation for Sherry. No need to send it to Solms.
SolaresLarrave
Sherry is, so to speak, "one of the boys" and will understand your concern about the Leitz red button. However, she may also pose the situation like this: do you want the button or the camera back? In any event, ship it to her. She'll return it to you in about 2 weeks. Richard Williams
You might also try one of the acknowledged experts in the UK: Peter Grisaffi at CRR Luton: http://www.angelfire.com/biz/Leica (I'd suggesting phoning rather than emailing) Malcolm Taylor in Hereford: http://www.ukcamera.com/collect/index.htm

laurentvuillard
I've had nice repair from a Summicron that went down on the floor ruining the focus threads by: "Procirep"; 14 bd Auguste Blanqui 75013 PARIS Tel 01 43 36 34 34.http://www.procirep.net/. Price was OK , I suppose they speak English and if I am not mistaken they have Leica agreement for service in France . I do recommend them! bernie_.
Harry, Richard, John, Laurent... thank you very much. I'm gonna check the websites. Maybe the most easy solution are the UK's experts Peter Grisaffi and Malcom Taylor. This forum is awesome. You never feel alone here. Thank you very much.
