mharris
Since I'm not getting a press pass I think Lyle and I will specialize in cheerleaders. They move a little slower so we will be able to use lower ISO and have less grain.

cbabbitt
Great job everyone and I am in complete agreement on the cheerleaders. It is amazing how often they get in the way of ones line of sight. Nothing from the islands this weekend. I shot scenics and birds over on Maui. glenn_cummings1
Michael, do you use any noise reduction software? I regularly shoot my son's hockey games in terribly lit ice rinks with results that are no where near what I had hoped for. Usually iso 1000-1600, 250-500/sec, 2.8 in manual mode. Thanks, Glenn
mike_adams12
Turned out way too dark, but our gym lighting stinks.

mharris
Hi Glenn, I do use noise reduction. It's a product called Noise Ninja. Which camera body are you using? I recently gave my D70s to a friend and he's able to get nice shots up to ISO 1000 with Noise Ninja. My D200 and D300 do great higher than that. Mike that's actually a pretty nice shot. You got the hardest part right, the white balance. What lens did you use?
mike_adams12
Thanks Michael. It is a Minolta Maxxum 50mm 1.7 from underneath the basket.
mike_adams12
This one was with it set at 2.2 and 1600 ISO on a Sony Alpha A100.
