lightwriting by swapan
If this is not the right forum, please pardon me. I have a few old B/W pictures (from 50s and 60s)I would like to restore. All of them are damaged, some more, some less. Can somebody suggest me a place where they will do a good job of it ? Do I send the pictures(I am scared) or just scan and upload them ?An internet search returned numerous choices, completely confusing me. I am willing to spend a fair amount of money for good restoring as those pictures are invaluable to me. Please help me. I will very much appreciate it Thanks Swapan Chaudhuri
mendel_leisk
Think I know the answer but: do you have the negatives?

J.W. Wall
Perhaps you can find a shop in your area where you can take the prints in for evaluation?
JeffOwen
There are services in the UK that can do such a task. However if you have a scanner or a reasonable camera and a program like Photoshop (even the basic version will do) then get the image onto the computer and have a go to do your own restoring. Not only is it a lot more rewarding it is also cheaper. The main problem depends how much time/patience you have and what programs you can use. In Photoshop the most useful tool is the clone or healing brush. I mainly use the clone tool.<div></div>
