wvtg
I have had my lights less than 2 weeks and I have already managed to break all three modeling lamps!....I just wonder why they are made so fragile:) Surely it is not the responsibly of the packer to pack the bulbs appropriatly8)... anyone else have other disastrous stories? eric friedemann
I've had my Calumet Travelites lights for ten years and, though they have been used almost exclusively on location (i.e. churches), I'm still using the modeling lamps that came with the units. wvtg
HEY..... no bragging....;) I am looking for sympathetic, empathetic stories here....more accurately in all truthfulness much more disastrous stories than mine to make my own poor attention to detail seem feel benign. mrossi
Look on the bright side, apparently your camera still works. I'd suggest a backup or 2 from the sounds of it, at least to get you through the DAY... :)
ellis_vener_photography
Which brand of flash? Which model? How are you transporting them? what were the circumstances when they broke? are they quartz-halogen modeling lights? If so don't touch them with your bare hands -- the oils, dirt and acids on your skin are really bad for the glass.

Well I'll be dipped in squirrel stew.....They just so happen to be Halogen quartz....now my healing is complete I'll blame it on the oils:P
michaelging
They used to come in little cloth sleeves that keeps the oil from you fingers from ever touching the glass.

mrstubbs
Model lights simply muck up the pupils...and natural models always look better in the dark! I'm going to break mine now....!
