michaelj
Howdy. I want to edit an action, but I'm not sure how, or if it can be done. Here is my situation. I have an action that I have written text (ie Hello there everybody), set font, size, turned 90 degrees, then aligned with other layers. It has about 5 or 6 steps. (actually the action has around 15 steps, maybe more, and this step is in the middle of the action). I now want to change the written text, and nothing more - let's say to goodbye everyone. I have been told to delete the first step (writing the text), re- record the text then drop it in the first position. I tried it and it does not work. Suggestion? thanks in advance. michaelj
blumesan
Not sure I understand your example. However editing an action is fairly straightforward. If you wish to delete a step (or steps) click on that step to highlight it. Go to flyout menu of Actions Palette and select "delete". If you wish to add a step or steps: Click to highlight the step immediately preceeding the steps to be inserted. Select "begin recording". Record the new steps and when done click "stop recording. michaelj
I made it as clear as mud, didn't I. All that I want to edit is the text in the step. I don't want to add another step, jest edit the verbiage. mike
blumesan
Well there are ways to do this but they are complex and may depend on what steps preceed the text layer. By far the simplest is just as I described. Delete the step that contains the unwanted text and re-record the step with the desired text.
rickvandenberg
Just locate the step, and double-click on it. Retype your new text. Commit the edits. Done. Photoshop saves whatever you did as the step.
