petemillis
John, what do yo reckon was the "production value" of The Blair With Prjoect? Next to no quality in traditional terms, but look at how popular it became. Sure the lack of quality leaps out, but that was besides the point. The film achieved far more in terms of popularity through the way it was made.
jtk
Pete, I've never seen it. But I did Google it. It appears that the entire project was a commercial hoax, done to such highly convincing standards ("production values") that it fooled many viewers...maybe even you: http://www.snopes.com/horrors/ghosts/blair.asp
jtk
...re-reading what you said, I'm sure it didn't fool you. BEvidently it did use unprofessional-looking footage intentionally to create the hoax. That would seem evidence of very high production values. Remember the miserable Dean Witter ads that faked scratched film of a pretend corporate founder? High production value.
