jdrose
I did a tour of ghosttowns in Nevada and Arizona with the Mamyia RZ67. I had my best negatives scanned and reproduced as 4x and 5x negatives especially for alternative contact printing. A few are coming out pretty well. I thought it would be fun to make some of the old fashioned RPPCs and send them to friends and family. They might get kick out of that, especially considering the subject matter. I have found a few vendors but they are glossy, cardboard made for inkjet. I was just wondering if you know of a source of a more traditional unsensitized postcard paper the would be suitable for alternative printing? Thanks...<div></div>
john_shriver
Get a rubber stamp made for the backs... Just be sure it meets current USPS rules, whatever they are.
jdrose
I appreciate that Mr. Shriver, but I am not a fan of those stamps. They always look a little sub-par to me. I was hoping to find a source that was added to the back by a real printing press. Call me old fashioned. Thanks.
stephenwood
Hit your local art store. I picked up a pack of watercolor postcards for the same purpose and they looked great. They might also come in smooth hot pressed or cold pressed. I'm at work now or I'd give you the paper brand.
jtk
Great ideas! What's your source of cyanotype supplies?
jdrose
"Bostick and Sullivan" for the old formula. Haven't bought there in years. And more recently, actually, currently, the new formula Cyanotype kit from "Photographers' Formulary" out of Montana.
jdrose
Photographers' Formulary will send you a read, hold-in-your-hand catalog for a buck. Random access in your hand is a joy. http://www.photoformulary.com/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabindex=8&tabid=
jdrose
Mr. Wood, I found those watercolor postcards at a online art supply shop. Very heavy weight and archival, probably won't sport the acuity I am used to, but they sure seem like the ticket otherwise. Hot tip. I thank thee.
