konstantinos_athanasiadis1664881385
have a problem with Lightroom. As soon as I connect one of my Sandisk?s they immediately Lightroom opens and the import dialog starts up. That is not what I prefer as I am not in need of opening ID photos with Lightroom. Is there a way in the preferences perhaps to stop that from happening. (I also have the EOS utility that starts up at the same time.)
eleary
I don't use Lightroom but Bridge and yes in preferences there is a check box for "open automatically" I'm sure it is same in Lightroom

ellis_vener_photography
Importing automatically really does make image management much easier if you are using Lightroom.
konstantinos_athanasiadis1664881385
Why does my preference dialog box look different, a friend of mine had the same problem, (I don't have import in the preference box) only file management.<div></div>
steve_bright1
I'm quite new to Lightroom. Although I'm on LR 1.1, my dialog box is more like the attached image than the screenshot that Ellis posted. Maybe it's a difference between the PC and MAC versions. Anyhow, if I chose 'when a memory card is detected <do nothing>', I still found that LR would start up as soon as I inserted a memory card (although with the 'do nothing' setting, it wouldn't go straight to the import dialog). After a bit of digging, I learned that if you find the file adproxy.exe and rename it to adproxy.xxx (or similar), LR won't start up when you insert a memory card. All other functionality of LR seems unaffected, but I don't know if this will have an impact on other Adobe products.
