petrana_batik
This is what I had bought this camera for. Small and extremely non-obtrusive, with very fine and pocketable optics. SR works beautifully.<div></div>
michael_kuhne
Thanks, Petrana- a terrific shot! I also appreciate how it demonstrates the front-to-back natural depth perspective of the 40mm focal length range. I have found it to be a very versatile view angle as well, even on a DSLR, where it can also be used for some portrait work.
renatoa
You should buy the K100D. Even smaller, with lower noise. And yes, SR is marveloous... 1.3sec handhold at 18mm:
michael_kuhne
Wow, great wide-angle, low-light shot, Renato! Shooting that slow hand-held is amazing. Was the absence of background color natural due to the low light, or accomplished with post-processing, with the green leaves left in?
renatoa
Only resized, no processing. Was the reason I shoot, the surreal atmosphere due to the combination of flourescent lightning. Paris "c'est la ville lumiere"... there was done, midnight on Seine banks.
petrana_batik
Renato, a wonderful shot indeed!I might add the K100D-- it's so cheap nowdays it just makes sense ... :D
michael_kuhne
Yes, it does make sense. And the k1ooD Super will be out soon. The cost will also be very reasonable, and may soon come down to being almost as cheap as the K100D is now. It will have full SD pro lens capablility, and sensor cleaning. Many photographers find it desireable to have a compact backup body. There are also times when compactness is of major concern, and the portability of the compact model is preferable. Especially then taking full advantage of the design qualities of the Limited series lenses.
shots worth sharing
Hand-held? Really?!
mountainvisions
Yes, really, I took some stuff the other night at about second handheld out of 8 shots 4 were sharp. Now that might seem not great but consider 0 shots would have been sharp without SR. It works, and it works well. And it's so nice to have it on every lens I own. renatoa
I wonder how nobody thinks to add a new entry in EXIF: handheld / tripod / monopod / bean bag / stone / tree /... continue here :))
petrana_batik
Renato, this could be interesting. Time implement a sensor in the tripod mount...
michael_martin_morgan
... a Pentax K10D with two little pancake lenses; namely the 21mm (which is an equivalent of 32mm) and the 70mm (=105mm). It's a pretty decent travel combo and the lenses are so small you just need a pocket for the one you're not using. michael_kuhne
Michael, thanks for sharing the travel pics! You got some fine results with those unique, compact Limited gems. Nothing else like them for convenient, high-quality portability. I really like my Limiteds. Using these is to fully take advantage of the Pentax experience.
