35mmdelux
Leibovitz asked Queen to remove her crown creating tiff with Her Royal Highness. Incredible. When the foto was posted here several weeks ago I said then that AL didn't know much more than the rest of us concerning the Brit Royal party. http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/europe/07/12/britain.queen/index.html
vivek iyer
Paul, It may actually help to understand the reality by reading the story in the link you post before giving your own twist?
steven_moseley1
Hi, 'Annie' might be a slightly well known tog, but before she starts taking snaps of a rather better known queen she might want to brush up on her etiquette.. cheers Steve.
whinterberger
Just as an aside : The British queen is no 'Royal Highness' , that title refers to princes/princesses and dukes/duchesses . Elizabeth II is 'Her Majesty'. A born republican ( and I don't mean the GOP ; ) )
ellis_vener_photography
"'Annie' might be a slightly well known tog, but before she starts taking snaps of a rather better known queen she might want to brush up on her etiquette..." Are you referring to Sir Elton John?
jtk
BBC has FORMALLY apologized to HRH for editing the video to create a false sequence of events, then crafting their "report" to support falsehood. BBC admitted HRH didn't stalk away from AL, their footage showed her coming TO AL, but their reporter/editor re-arranged it. HRH was cranky with her Ladies, not with AL. Look it up. I gotta wonder why. They do it every day!
ellis_vener_photography
Yep Bob, and FOXed news does it 24 hours a day. "'But what is Truth?' said jesting Pilate but would not stay for an answer"
ben_ballard
What was Annie thinking? If the Queen isn't supposed to be dressy, then who is? I suppose appearing nude or bathing in milk was right out of the question as well.
akajohndoe
As an aside, I loved the short segment on The Daily Show Jon Stewart the other night with Lewis Black where he commented that a fake news show on FOX should deliver REAL news!
matt_mccarthy3
Well, Annie Lebovitz does outrank the queen in terms of sheer nerve and massive ego........
michaelkh
"BBC has FORMALLY apologized to HRH for editing the video to create a false sequence of events, then crafting their "report" to support falsehood. BBC admitted HRH didn't stalk away from AL, their footage showed her coming TO AL, but their reporter/editor re-arranged it. HRH was cranky with her Ladies, not with AL. Look it up." John Kelly: this is not what they apologised for at all. (Though you are correct about the sequence of events the clip actually misrepresented). The admission was, in fact, that they were presented with a tape from the production company RDF Media which had the sequences edited as shown. As these were effectively trailers/rushes/screeners of a series of upcoming programmes (not due to air for several months) that the head of commissioning was showing reporters, they didn't check the accuracy of the clip in question. (They are, essentially, passing the blame on to RDF Media.) They did not in any sense edit the video to 'create' a false sequence of events, nor did they 'craft' a report to support it. There was no report. What was printed in the various newspapers was based on the first hand experiences of the journalists shown the screening - before then, the BBC had not run this coverage on television at all. Look it up, as you say.
