wil_ussery
I just purchased a used NPC back for my Pentax 645. Can someone recommend a color polaroid film for this back. Also what is the size of the film?

wil_ussery
Ellis is the film size 3.25" x 4.25"?
dougmiles
This site: http://www.rwhirled.com/landlist/landfilm.htm Says it works in classic pack cameras, which to me implies 3.25 x 4.25, and that it was replaced by Type 690 in 2003.
ondebanks
Fuji FP-100C. Better colour balance than Polaroid 690, and more widely available [in Europe at least].
tarashnat
Remember, the image on the film will only be approx. 6x4.5 cm.
wil_ussery
Taras the size will be fine as the camera I'm using is 6x4.5cm. I'm more interested in checking color and light composition.
dougmiles
Wil, common sense of course... but someone might have mistaken that they'd get an image the size of the film used. :-) Not having seen one of these backs myself, I'm having a hard time imagining how it manages to get that large film up close (and flat) to the deeply recessed film gate... ondebanks
Doug, they use fibre-optic transfer plates to relay the image plane backwards. Nice technology but not cheap.
kelly_hughes
As long as they're transferring the image already, why didn't they add a lens and bump the image size up to fill up the whole polaroid?
philipp1
If you need a manual of this pola back just send me an e-mail (philippvonroeder@web.de).
ondebanks
Kelly, that's an excellent suggestion about increasing the image size. You'd have to ask NPC why they didn't think of that - or perhaps they couldn't implement it cost effectively?
