I am fairly new to Lightroom as must of us probably are but I know there is

someone that can answer this.
I edited a batch of pics and I am ready to

export them to my pictures. Under image settings it says resolution and in the

box is 240 pixels per inch. Is that the standard setting that I should leave it

at or do I need to change that and if so to what? I am still figuring out all

the export stuff I dont understand all the options yet but I don't want to mess

up the resolution. Any help appreciated.

Thank you

Elaine

You're going to wind up with the same "size" of image regardless of your resolution. For

example, if you type in 300ppi, you'll get an 8x12 inch image. If you type in 72 ppi, you'll

get about a 31x46 image, which will then compress down to a 300ppi 8x12 for printing.

Basically, as long as you DON'T constrain your proportions, it doesn't matter what you set

your resolution to. They'll be compressed for printing anyway.

Leave the quality at 100, like Steve said.

And yes, the same rule applies for RAW or Jpeg.
