glenroy
Hi All, I went in to ask about a new body and I was told that Canon are holding back releasing them in Australia as the new MK III was having focusing issues and won't be released till they can sort it out. Has any one else heard of this or any other stories? Cheers Glen

chrisjb
hi, I just spoke to one of my suppliers this morn on the GoldCst, they expecting 2 in the nex 2 weeks, and more constant by end of the month, nothing said about why delayed. OK just rang back they told me they ordered 10 only 2 shipped, by the time back orders filled another 2 mnths, they think the focus issue is porkies to sell something else because of te wait. still somebody may know more, looks like patience. robin_sibson1
There was a focus issue with one pre-production body supplied for review. This was declared up-front to the reviewer by Canon, and is commented on in the review - can't remember where it was. There was no indication whether this was a sporadic problem or a general one, but it might well be the source of a rumour that has been embroidered in the telling. glenroy
Interesting.....It was only one supplier that I approached about buying. I guess I'll just have to wait and find a distributer that can put my order on the waiting list. Cheers Glen
peter_mounier
I don't know if there's a focus issue or not, but I commented on the focus in one of the preview images from the review on this forum. http://web.canon.jp/Imaging/eos1dm3/downloads/landscape1.jpg The left side is clearly out of focus. Also there is fringing that looks unacceptable to me for a $5,000 camera. Peter
walang_pangalan
The left side is clearly out of focus.
The camera is so good it shows just how bad the lens is!
Also there is fringing that looks unacceptable to me for a $5,000 camera.
Then don't buy it? I certainly won't be buying one at $5000 either. But will at $4000. In a heartbeat.
