jim1169
Has anybody bought equipment from CCI in Brooklyn, NY? Nikon told me they are not an authorized deaker, but they claim to sell cameras with a Nikon USA Warranty. They have agreat price on some Nikon gear, but I think it may be too good to be true. Any experience with them?
rick_gerbehy1
If Nikon says no..stay away. I think they are the old Cambridge Camera...the first real discounter in NY......but lately a hit and run operation. My one call to them after an order I was about to place...let me know what they are all about. Check B&H....if there is a sizeable difference in price...stay away. sattler123
http://www.resellerratings.com/store/CCI_Camera_City Enough said. I really cannot understand how people keep falling for these guys. There is no magic to this - how could they sell Nikon gear significantly lower priced than B&H - who sells probably 50 times their volume. There is no free lunch. Michael R Freeman
"... but I think it may be too good to be true."
And you would be right. This is one of the oldest bait and switch scam outfits in Brooklyn. And if you pressed them on that warranty, I'll bet you would find that it is a "USA warranty" and not a "Nikon USA warranty".
They do business from these high class premises here (for comparison B&H in Manhattan sells from here, here, here and here).
Stop dicking around looking for the lowest possible price, unless you really enjoy being screwed around and ripped off by rude, belligerent shysters who would steal jewelry from the dead. Buy from a reputable merchant like B&H, Adorama, Cameta, Amazon.com., etc. There are enough good sellers with fair and reasonable prices around that you don't need to deal with these assholes that operate just barely(?) within New York's (apparently) weak consumer protection laws.
