chuck_sackman
Looking for suggestions on how to mount a d200 to a motorcycle for a "over the shoulder" view of a biker on his motorcycle and a view low and in front of the rider looking toward him. ThanksChuck Sackman
leicaglow
I've got a mount on my gas tank for shooting video of the instrument panel and view out the front. I have been looking for a way to carry a tripod on my Katana and the only thing I've come up with is a couple hundred dollars in various parts made by Bogen/Manfrotto and uses a sort of pipe clamp to go around the handle bar. As for the back looking forward, that should be a good trick<g>.
wigwam jones
Matthews Mafer Super Clamps might help you out. Think 'cine' - those guys have been doing this kind of stuff for years. http://bicycledesign.blogspot.com/2007/01/few-friday-links.html http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?A=search&pn=2&ci=8141&Q=&O=NavBar http://www.lightsonretail.com/Merchant/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=VIDEO-LIGHTING&Category_Code=Mafer

michaelging
A superclamp and gaffers tape is the best way, read the description and take warning on this photo I shot. http://www.photo.net/photo/2795189
david_gard
I would clamp a monopod to something sturdy in the back and use a remote trigger for the camera. What do you ride? A bike that has a luggage rack would be the easiest to mount a monopod to. For a tank mount, I just saw this neat gadget at newenough.com. http://www.newenoughhp.com/accessories/cameras_&_camera_mounts/power_stands/mantis_motorcycle_gas_tank_mounting_system.html It may be a little pricey, but it is an elegant solution that will not fall off.
