kcc138
Hello, I have many GB of digital image files that need burned again, as the old discsare starting to look iffy, plus I'll be scanning high-res files of all mynegatives and slides soon. What I'm hoping for is a digital asset managerprogram that will allow me to keep an index of my stored files searchable, evenafter I've burnt and deleted the files from my hard drives. I read in another forum that such as thing exists [quote: photo organizingsoftware to create folders, organize thumbnails, create searchable fields, addinformation, and produce contact sheets and burn DVDs (or CDs). The software creates a "record" of each and every image (along with generating apermanent thumbnail) and shows me on which DVD or CD I've burned the original. It also lets me perform searches and shows me all thumbnails that match thosesearch terms all without ever having to load a DVD or CD.] Unfortunately, this post is old and did not mention the name of the software. If anyone could help me choose a program I'd greatly appreciate it. I havePhotoshop, so editing functions aren't necessary, and Picasa and ACDSee as well. Thanks,Kelly
patricklavoie
My friend have around 50 000 images, store on xserve and DVDs, and he use Portfolio for many years, over a network. You can see full screen image of the file, even if the disk or the drives not mount. I think it certainly cover you needs.
