harrisonp
They show up on all of my prints as white spots and are very unpleasing
harrisonp
I have a couple self processed rolls of Agfa APX 400 that have what looks like mineral deposits on the shiny side of the film. I've tried soaking the negs in photoflo and squeegee-ing them off but they seem to be stuck on there pretty good. What other home methods could I do to get these off, or even bought methods? al_kaplan1
Are you sure that you fixed the film completely? That can leave a milky look on the back. If your water supply has a lot of dissolved minerals in it, usually lime, you might try soaking the film in an acid stop bath and see if that loosens or disolves it. Then treat the film in hypo clearing agent, rewash, photo flo, and dry, but use a different source of water, or distilled water, fo mixing the chemicals as well as the wash waer. christer_almqvist2
Once they are there, they are difficult to get rid off. For the future use demineralized water for the last wash. Avoid photo-flow and similar products.
chris_waller
It sounds like small particles of lime in your water supply. I use a 10 micron filter for all water involved in film processing. Look up Ametek filters (now I believe part of Osmicron) who are (were?) based in Paoli, PA.
William Kahn
Was your developer D-76? If so, was the powder completely dissolved before you used it?

William Kahn
OK, make sure you mix the solution at the prescribed temperature (125 deg. F). I usually let it sit overnight before using, just to make sure all the crystals are dissolved.....
