Since you're using ordinary 'hypo' then your fixing times will be much longer than rapid fixer. I would suggest 1.5 - 2 minutes, even at film strength, with continuous agitation. jeff_schraeder1 Posted February 2, 2007 Share Posted February 2, 2007 You can determine the optimal time for your particular paper and fixer dilution as follows:<p> Put an unexposed sheet of paper in stop bath for 30 seconds or so<p> Insert about an inch of the sheet in your fixer. Every ten seconds slide the sheet in another inch.<p> Rinse the sheet in water<p> Develope the sheet.<p> You can see the point where the fixer has removed all of the silver.
