eyadnalsamman
A friend of mine has an ultra compact (Sony DSC-P200) and has a problem with itsbuilt-in flash. When he tries to take a photo, the flash is not synchronizedwith the moment of capturing the photo. So, he got a dark final photo. Is it asetting's fault or a malfunction in the camera itself and how can he fix theproblem of synchronization to get a good photo? Thank you so much for your expected help. MichaelChang
Eyad, your description of the problem would appear to be a camera settings issue; it's highly improbable to be faulty hardware although possible.

Try taking a picture of a subject at a short distance (no more than 6') in a relatively dark room, flash on, camera set to full auto mode, then download to view and examine EXIF data to make sure the flash indeed fired, both visually and recorded in EXIF. It would be helpful if you can post a sample picture (while preserving the EXIF data) if the problem persists.
tony_neville
I don't think it's a hardware issue, mine just developed the same fault also, and a quick google shows dozens and dozens of people with the same issue. Looks like there is a problem with this camera.
